Web Deploy, MySQL and characters (čćžđš) - (©®) Don't work with Migration Scripts
Hi,
I have a problem with characters and Webdeploy.
Here is the situation i make a project Joomla in WebMatrix from APP Gallery on local machine and installs and its all good ready for work. I now start adding content in Croatian Language using this letters (čćžšđ) and this characters (©®). Try to run it in my local browser and it working perfectly.
Now i want to publish it using webdeploy with publish settings to my online website, The webmatrix uploads all the files, and now the database its up but when i open the page and now the sentence starts and stops when the first letter (čćžšđ) needs to appear.
If i use the © for © this will work but how will i write text if i would use (č) for č and ither characters. This is not practical.
The server that is hosting the MySQL is set to MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8). If i try to manually update the database it works.
I believe that migration scripts that migrate mysql database don't work well with UTF-8 or something???. Can you please find a solution or fix the migration scripts. The same problem is in WordPress and i believe that it is in Drupal to.

I will make a video, will create a wordpress site from gallery locally and then will make changes and insert special characters and upload it using webdeploy to Arvixe hosting ok.

Hi Damir,
I'm trying to reproduce your issue locally, but I was able to publish the special characters you listed above to our internal test servers without seeing the issues you described.
May I ask which tables hold the Croatian characters?
Thanks,
Eric
